Aloe flowers

There are about 400 Aloe species on earth, mainly in Africa, areas around the Mediterranean Sea and some islands close to Africa, particularly Madagascar. Many aloes flowering at the same time and place create their own hybrids.

These flowers look like they could be a hybrid (or cross between two or more Aloe species), probably involving Aloe ferox. Hybrids are deliberately developed in horticulture to achieve particular plant attributes in shape, size, flowering and adaptation to habitat.
