This profusely flowering Adenium swazicum plant has a deeper flower colour, one of the forms of this species. It grows in the grass under a tree in the Kruger National Park where it was photographed in January.

The petal lobes are wavy, particularly around the margins. There are variable gaps between these lobes on different flowers borne by the plant. When flimsy limbs are that bit too long, they may lack the resolute rigidity for parade ground performance (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Smith and Crouch, 2009; Onderstall, 1984; iNaturalist).
