Anisodontea anomala flowers at different stages

The flowers of Anisodontea anomala grow in small clusters from leaf axils near stem-tips. There is a lobed epicalyx on the peduncle below the calyx. The cup-shaped calyx ends in five acutely pointed lobes, green and hairy. It is less than half as long as the corolla.

The five round-tipped petals form a shallow bowl to wide funnel-shape. The petals are pink or rose, variably darker near the base in magenta to deep pink with thin lines in the dark colour reaching into the pale upper parts.

The whitish staminal column splits into spreading pale filaments, short and topped by tiny anthers, blackish when old. The thread-like style branches, one for each carpel, end in stigmas together in the centre above the stamens.
