The fruit of Asparagus rubicundus is a globose berry. The ones in picture have lost their initial green colour, becoming purplish as they ripen. They appear shallowly three-segmented.
The star-shaped flowers that precede the fruit are normally solitary or in pairs in the axils of the cladode tufts. The recurving tepals and the stamens spread widely. The flowers are about 6 mm long. The small, superior ovary is globose and pale-coloured.
Flowering begins in autumn and lasts through winter (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iSpot).
