The leaves of Adromischus triflorus may also be coloured like those of this Little Karoo specimen photographed in May. The random speckles varying in size are in this case dark yellow to brownish. Here and there they become dark grey lower down on the silvery surfaces, while almost blackening the oldest leaf visible in the picture entirely. A whitish sheen or powdery layer covers the leaves like a bloom.
The skin is orange below the cartilaginous ridge along the top of the triangular leaf structure. This ridge has tiny whitish bumps along its length, too small to really be likened to teeth (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015).
