Dainty fluff-balls of silvery white Curio articulatus fruits follow the flowering, later the wind. The soft hairs attached to the ribbed cylindrical fruits rub off easily, ready for distance travel to spread the species.

Whether the wind brings rain or not, it is the friend of ripe Curio seeds in need of dispersal (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Moriarty, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
