    The peduncles (flower stalks) of Crassothonna sedifolia flowerheads are long and erect over the foliage, maximising the opportunities for pollination. They grow from stem-tips and upper leaf axils.

    Few of the peduncles branch, most flowerheads growing solitary (Manning, 2009; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
