    The pan crinum, Crinum paludosum, flowers happily immersed in muddy water, from late spring through summer. One doesn’t have to plant a bulb of this crinum in this way. Fortunate for gardeners!

    Heavy watering about every two weeks during summer and early autumn is sufficient for the plant’s needs. Bulbs should, however, be kept dry during winter to prevent fungal rot.

    To copy or imitate nature often takes special effort. Getting it right is another matter (Duncan, et al, 2016; iNaturalist).
