The hurriedly flowering Cotula leptalea plant in picture is rather pale, maybe from its early life exertions. The soft but sturdy, cylindrical peduncle is straight and erect. The head of numerous yellow disc florets is surrounded by an unkempt-looking involucre, while the finger-like leaf lobes are left well below the floral level (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
