The compact, yellow flowerheads of Cotula microglossa are shaped like slightly flattened spheres.
Belonging to the Asteraceae family, each multiflowered head comprises numerous tiny florets. In this species they are all four-lobed disc florets, no ray florets present around the discs. Flowerheads are borne solitary on long peduncles, up to 10 cm in length, clear of the leaves below. The head becomes nearly 1 cm in diameter.
