The Calobota cytisoides yellow flowers may have some orange seemingly painted or smeared on the outside of the banner petal, at least when it is still folded over the rest of the flower. The inside of the widely spread banner is only bright yellow when fully open, although faint vein lines may be visible at the base.
The wavy wing petals point forward, flanking the keel and shorter than its blunt tip.
The flowers become about 2 cm long. The stalked raceme may be densely flowered as in this photo, or lax with bare internodes showing.
There is a small, narrow bract below each pedicel (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
