The yellow-flowered form of Calobota sericea is more common than the cream one. The leaves are sometimes sparsely present among many thin, leaf-coloured stems.

The banner petal of the flower is large, pointed, folded down the centre and erect. The wings are smaller, angled out and the keel is folded flat and small. The leaf-coloured sepals are small, pointed and hairy. The flower is about 1,5 cm long (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
