    The pale cream Cassine peragua leaf venation is prominent on both surfaces. The midrib dominates, diminishing to the tip.

    The spaced, ascending lateral veins curve in, each joining the next higher one well inside the margin. These vein lines are irregular and slightly angular, morphing into net-veining at some bolder coloured node-points. The vein pattern peters out towards the leaf-tip in faint net-veining.

    Leaf-shape varies across the range of the tree’s geographical distribution, some rounder, others narrower elliptic (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002; Venter, 2012; iNaturalist).
