    Chrysocoma coma-aurea is a leafy shrublet. Until the flowers appear this fact is very obvious.

    The narrow leaves are needle-like, fresh green with margins rolled under. The leaves curve slightly inwards lengthwise towards the stem-tips, somewhat hook-like. Leaf length varies between 3 mm and 20 mm (Marais, (Ed.), 2017; Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
