A blooming sequence of at least four flowering events is under construction in this industrious Crassula dichotoma plant. Boldly erect, the dwarf annual is succulent but firm.

The open flower dominates, as it should in the interests of motivating pollinators. The purplish, furled corolla in the bottom left of the photo may open soon, more likely the case than having had its chance already and now bent on fruiting. Two more buds are present, one with its creamy petals pushed beyond the succulent sepals and both dark-dotted on the sepal tips (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
