Crassula pellucida subsp. brachypetala buds and old flowers

The star-shaped flowers of Crassula pellucida subsp. brachypetala grow in terminal fascicles or clusters. The glossy pedicels are purple and fleshy. There are five narrow, green sepals with acutely pointed tips, clasping the base of the corolla.

The corolla consists of five acutely pointed white, pink-tinged or pink-striped petals. The anthers are white or purple, the angled-out filaments whitish. The old, brown flowers in picture have closed again, the sepals protectively in place.

Flowering happens in summer to after midautumn (Smith, et al, 2017; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
