Floral beginnings on this Crassula subaphylla var. subaphylla plant were seen during October west of Barrydale. The compact, rounded bud clusters are positioned at stem-tips. The still dominant sepals are creamy green.
The erect, upper stems bearing the inflorescences have elongated, a feature visible in the long internodes between the decussate leaf-pairs (Smith, et al, 2017; iNaturalist).
