Colour is a freedom in Crassula muscosa. A wiry plant bearing small, scale-like leaves and inconspicuous, yellow florets doesn’t sound like a miracle worker in the colours domain. Its magic lies in successful adaptations in most southern African habitat regions where vegetation varies dramatically. If you can make it everywhere (although not in New York), your life solutions may inspire awe.

Multiform appearances don’t always constitute identity problems, although aliases abound among plants. There is little confusion about whether this is a C. muscosa or not, although there are four varieties of the species with gradualism among their appearance patterns.

Grandmothers of sound mind feed different-looking grandchildren at family feasts with equal love, perhaps wondering at how much more diversity there will be when these kids are the grandparents themselves one day.
