Crassula obtusa

Crassula obtusa, in Afrikaans commonly the klipblom (stone flower) or jasmynplakkie (jasmine plakkie), is a sprawling, succulent herb that branches and reaches 15 cm in height. The branches tend to root at nodes.

The species distribution is in the Western Cape from Vanrhynsdorp to the Cape Peninsula and eastwards into the Eastern Cape as far as Uitenhage.

The habitat is moist sandstone ledges and rock pool fringes in fynbos. The plants also grow where winter snow tends to fall. The species is not considered threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Van Jaarsveld, et al, 2006; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
