Crassula nudicaulis var. nudicaulis, sometimes the sourfig stonecrop, bears flowers in rounded heads on erect, branched stems. These panicles may reach 30 cm in height when they bloom in spring and summer. The tiny individual flowers are white, but the closely clustered heads usually appear greenish or creamy, later turning light brown.
This is not one of the crassulas commonly seen in cultivation. It deserves better! The wide distribution range where it thrives, the many soil types and the comparative neglect these plants will weather, should count in their favour, both for survival in nature and success in varied gardening conditions (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist).
