    Crassula tecta is not sorry for itself in living conditions harsh as these. Little else is currently coping in this spot, exposed among numerous stones embedded in hard earth. Equipped with protective leaf papillae, the plants unperturbedly grow several productive branches ending in leaf rosettes and inflorescences.

    Maybe the C. tecta pioneering example will be taken by some typical follower species to conquer the desolation yet again (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
