The thickly succulent leaves of Crassula macowaniana are opposite and decussately arranged. They ascend and curve slightly inwards.

The leaf-shape is lanceolate to linear, nearly cylindrical, the margins marked by slight ridges between the flattish upper and bulging lower surfaces. The leaf tips are slightly pointed. The leaf colour is green or yellow-green suffused with red. The tips may dry out and drop off.

The leaves become from 2,5 cm to 6 cm long and from 0,3 cm to 1,5 cm wide (Frandsen, 2017; Williamson, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
