The thin cylinders of the round-tipped Mimetes chrysanthus perianths predominate here among the ascending, grey-green leaves.
The first pollen presenters are bursting the seams of their yellow, four-segmented perianths. This allows the temporarily curved pollen presenters (styles) to break free on the side, although their tips are still inside the perianths for pollen offload. Once laden with pollen, they escape and straighten, suddenly much longer than the perianths.
The masses of freed pollen presenters in open flowers, also shown in this Album are thin, like yellow bottle brushes around the stems. There are about 30 individual florets in each leaf axil cluster.
A new bud enveloped in white woolliness is also visible growing from an upper leaf axil (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; Wikipedia).
