Colour and shape at this Mimetes cucullatus stem tip are undergoing end phase changes. The inflorescence leaves are losing the bright colouring, not their fine hairiness. The styles have white and yellow top sections and are sharply pointed, although the tips are soft. They appear least affected by the processes of floral decay at this stage. White and brown hairy remains of the perianth segments curve randomly.
