Othonna coronopifolia leaves partly purple-red

The usually pale green, thinly succulent Othonna coronopifolia leaves may also be purplish red, probably when the plant is stressed. Curving in along their margins, the leaves may have red tips, red upper parts or red margins.

The leaf-shape is sometimes oblanceolate, rather than lanceolate, i.e. the widest part of some leaves, also some in picture, is nearer the tip than the base.

Visible stem parts in picture appear dry, meaning dead, but not so in some cases here, as young side-branches covered in leaves grow from them (Manning 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
