Two Othonna dentata flowerhead buds are making their way up from among the stem-tip leaves to where they will tower over the rosette when open.

The pale, fleshy and hairless leaf surfaces appear very soft-textured here, suggesting ample moisture content and general wellbeing. The visible leaf midrib stops in mid-leaf, while faint lateral veins are discernible on some bigger leaves. The veins ascend towards the margins, getting lost on the way in similar fashion to the midrib.

The whitish base of a midrib widens into a very short, even debatably absent petiole as the leaf blade tapers into it. The uneven leaf margin toothing is erratic as in a drawing by a child (Mustart, et al, 1997; Bean and Johns, 2005; Burman, 1985).
