Orthochilus foliosus leaves

The winter deciduous leaves of Orthochilus foliosus are seen here in the open grass among rocks, typical of the orchid’s habitat, well longer than the inflorescence. 

The long leaves are strongly veined, ribbed and stiffly erect, narrowing to the stalk and acutely pointed at the tips. Leaf dimensions are 20 cm to 60 cm by 2,5 cm (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; http://eswatinibiodiversity.com).
