The leaves of Orthochilus foliosus growing in a shoot next to the flower stem are seen here in the open grass among rocks of the orchid’s habitat. It has narrow, ribbed leaves, stiffly erect.

The leaves are winter deciduous. Leaf dimensions are 20 cm to 60 cm by 2,5 cm (Pooley, 1998).
