The Osteospermum sinuatum var. sinuatum fruits still stuck on the head are pink-purple in the veins crisscrossing their translucent, marginal wing borders. This wing will later help each fruit in dispersal flight, once it is ripe and dry. The fruit centre where the seed is ripening black, the inner fringe is yellow-green.

The dark, glistening fruit furthest from the camera appears different at its angle, the fruits being three-angled.

Some dry, tubular ray perianths are present, lying loose. Although departures among old flower parts (and fruits) have clearly started here, the involucre is still green (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
