The leaves of Osteospermum imbricatum are sessile or stalkless, their stem attachments broad. Somewhat overlapping on the sturdy, erect stems, the leaves are alternate or spiralling to subopposite.

The leaf-shape is ovate, tapering to an acutely pointed tip where a short mucro, a tiny, sharp protrusion may be present. The blades are blue-green, thickish and smooth, their margins entire.  The leaf curves down from base to tip, its margins curving up laterally (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
