The somewhat shiny outer sepals of this young Melianthus major inflorescence are starting to veer away from the cohesively bunched floral parts of its normal beginnings.
These sepals are notably triangular, their margins initially flatter and more spread upon inner parts than sometimes seen. The tapering sepal tips are acutely pointed, mostly curving in once they lift (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
