Ornithoglossum vulgare sometimes forms clumps of a few bulbs producing their deciduous above-ground leaf and floral parts in unison. Some ornithoglossums grow branched inflorescences, panicles comprising a few racemes, adding to the crowded look. O. vulgare is one of them.
The leaves appearing higher up on the stems sheathe it, adding plant parts in close proximity. This plant has broader leaves folded at their midribs into boat-like shapes; vigorous growth being the style.
Several old flowers in picture have their petals narrowed as they dry, by now drooping near the ground and spreading rather than flexed back as during their earlier flowering performance (Van Rooyen and Van Rooyen, 2019; iNaturalist).
