The iris-like flower of Moraea inconspicua may have spreading or reflexed, drooping tepals.

The clawed tepal bases form an open cup in the centre. Flower colour, meaning mainly tepal colour, varies between yellow, lemon-yellow, cream, buff or dusky brown. There are dark spots scattered near the base of the outer tepals. The tepals are sometimes all similar, on other plants the inner whorl of three is smaller and unmarked.

The style branches are erect above the flower centre. The pollen is reddish.

Flowering happens in spring, in some areas in summer. A flower lasts about one day, one or two being open at a time (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; iNaturalist).
