This plant seen in the eastern Little Karoo in the Western Cape is thought to be Moraea albicuspa. If that is true, the species distribution extends further southwest than normally believed.
The flower has three large, pointed tipped outer tepals, the inner three narrow, needle-like and erect. The yellow nectar guides are usually dark spotted, those in picture possibly bearing no spots.
The specific name, albicuspa, is derived from the Latin words albus meaning white and cuspis meaning point, referring to the pointed tepal tips.
The forked, white style crests appear to fit the M. albicuspa features (Wikipedia; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
