In profile the open Moraea ciliata flower shows the spread of its outer tepals. The narrower inner ones angle up slightly, and the bunched style branches are erect. Lateral margins of all these floral parts curve in slightly, while the main directional development in all of them is longitudinal. Colouring is progressively lighter in the higher up components.
