There may be several corms of Moraea bulbillifera living together here as multiple flower stems and at least two of the long narrow leaves emerge from the same spot. This probably happened when some of the uintjiestulp bulbils matured next to the parent specimen. The grass-like leaves are without midribs.
The flower stems branch. The flowers are enclosed at the base by leathery, leaf-like spathes. The cylindrical spathes bulge slightly in the centre form several layers of varying length, clasping the longer ones on the inside of them. The spathes are more bluish in colour than the green leaves (Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist).
