Oxalis leptogramma is a slender perennial growing a leafy stem and becomes from 5 cm to 12 cm tall. The leaves on red petioles are divided into three narrow, thread-like leaflets that are finely channelled on top.

The pedicelled flowers are lilac or white, occasionally yellow. The petals spread around a yellowish, funnel-shaped tube. Flowering happens from midautumn to early winter.

The species distribution is in an inland part of the Western Cape around Worcester, Montagu and Ceres. The photo was taken near Montagu.

The habitat is winter rainfall scrub and fynbos. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
