Oxalis campylorrhiza

Oxalis campylorrhiza is one of the less seen yellow flowering sorrel plants of Namaqualand and the Richtersveld. Sorrels are named Oxalis for oxalic acid, a sour sap contained in plant parts.

O. campylorrhiza is a small perennial herb with a basal tuft of leaves. Annual leaves and flower stems are grown from a flat, contorted bulb. The leaves are trifoliolate with narrowly heart-shaped or wedge-shaped leaflets (iSpot).
