This Oxalis commutata flower was seen near Gansbaai in June. The five petals are longitudinally lined from the base of the corolla tube to the tips of the petal lobes. The veins, darker than their surrounds, also branch along the delicately thin membranous petals.

The anthers are short, down inside the base of the funnel-shaped tube or cup. This entrance is still wide enough to accommodate visitors with pollinator potential (Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; iSpot).
