The ovoid to ellipsoid green buds of Pelargonium bowkeri in picture were initially all enclosed by the involucral bracts now inconspicuous at the inflorescence base. Four to twelve flowers grow in each pseudo-umbel.
The green sepals hide the more spectacularly shaped and coloured petals preparing for dramatic revelation.
There are different kinds of hairs on all the visible parts, those on the peduncle few, long and stubbly (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; www2.arnes.si).
