Pelargonium bowkeri friendly or not?

Pelargonium bowkeri flowers may appear frightening rather than inviting… the beauty that is in the eye of the beholder may be replaced by emotions that surprise. Still, the oldest flowers in this umbel, rid of their petals, appear to have developed swollen ovaries. So, pollinators are tough, not easily discouraged.

The transforming ovaries are topped by styles ending in three tiny branches, the now used stigmas that were earlier vital in the floral cycle. It is all now concluding successfully in fruit.

Flowering happens in spring and most of summer (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; www2.arnes.si).
