Pelargonium multicaule subsp. multicaule flowers grow in few-flowered umbels, the pedicels short and the peduncles unbranched. The five sepal lobes are narrow and pointed, often coloured red purple, similar to the stripes on the petals. The calyx tube is about 15 mm long.

The corolla consists of four petals in two opposite pairs, the upper pair bigger and marked in dark red purple lines, faint patches and usually a white spot. Flower colour is deep pink, magenta or purplish, rarely white, the corolla diameter about 25 mm.

Flowering happens mainly from before midspring to early summer but may continue all year round (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
