The pale Pelargonium luridum flowers manage to resist being swamped in the green of this grassy field, a boon to pollinators. The solitary, spherical, umbel-shaped inflorescences grow on long peduncles. The waving pelargonium is yet another common name for this plant, probably fitting in its grassland adaptation.
P. luridum is planted in gardens. In a garden of the grassveld region the plants are mostly deciduous (Pooley, et al, 2005; Manning, 2009; Germishuizen and Clarke, 2003; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
