Pelargonium longicaule buds nodding together

The pendulous Pelargonium longicaule inflorescence in bud will soon be pulled upright for its grand opening by its long peduncle, the longicaule of the plant’s name. At least three sharply pointed buds hang together in this immature inflorescence, surrounded but not quite hidden by the three bracts that will spread once the pedicels are up and elongating.

Next door, there is a greenish peduncle with two reddish pedicels above, all hairy, separated by the three spreading bracts at the inflorescence base of flowers cut off this time by the photographer. 

Small oblong to obovate leaf sections are loosely connected, or well spaced in the much-divided green leaf parts below (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
