A Pelargonium longicaule leaf can also look like the big one dominating in this picture. The other leaf parts peeping out indicate leaf variability.

The big leaf retains some of its typical heart-shaped outline, the lower parts here bent far back to resemble a trifoliolate leaf. The leaf lobes have toothed tips as well as some secondary lobing higher up in a non-uniform fashion.

There are narrow, sunken lobe veins on the blade, maroon leaf colouring in the centre and a glimpse of gloss to show that this leaf does not lack sophistication (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist).
