The dark line markings on the two upper petals of the Pelargonium cordifolium flowers also appear on the outside of the petal surfaces, not on the lower petals. The form, size and colour of petal markings on Pelargonium flowers contribute to species identification, but also may confuse as they represent some individual differences among plants of the same species grown from seed.
The purple-brown calyces and therefore the buds are faintly hairy, the soft, whitish hairs fairly long here.
The sunken veins of the heart-shaped leaves are quite pronounced in the photo, the smaller leaves appear like miniatures of the mature ones (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; iNaturalist).
