Five long, thin Pelargonium desertorum fruits have grown in this umbel. One seed has just been released for dispersal, the long white hairs for assisting its flight on show.

The dry or nearly dry sepals are shrivelling, bulging around the old flower bases. Narrower bracts, also acutely pointed, are visible at the umbel base. Thread-like style remains are also still present at most of the fruit tips (Williamson, 2010; iNaturalist; www.namibrand.com).
