    The upper petals of the Pelargonium sericifolium flower in picture are obovate and larger than the three below. The upper pair is unmarked by darker patches, uniformly cerise coloured, apart from white at the base. Cerise means cherry in French.

    The lower petals have darker patches from the base and over halfway to their rounded tips. There is a white, branched stigma erect in the flower centre (Le Roux, et al, 2005).
