Pelargonium panduriforme is an erect, pubescent shrub with interesting leaf shape and scent. Panduriforme means fiddle-shaped. The leaves have rounded ends and a contracted central part. They are soft, hairy and sticky with a strong balm-scent. The flowers are pale pink with different types of purple lines on the upper and lower petals respectively. Flowers appear between August and January.
The distribution range is in the Eastern Cape mountain kloofs, including the Baviaanskloof and the Kouga. The plant is not threatened (www.plantzafrica.com).
The picture was taken at the University of Stellenbosch Botanical Garden during March, so no flower should be expected.
