This Pelargonium sidoides inflorescence was photographed on the Amatola Mountains of the Eastern Cape.
The six dark flowers in the umbel are almost black, the base of the corolla reddish and the filaments of the stamens white.
The hairy green sepals are small and pointed, pinkish on the droopy buds in the developing umbel lower down. There is also an old umbel in picture that finished flowering earlier, its fruits yet to develop (www.plantzafrica.com).
