    The stems of Paranomus reflexus become brown to pale grey as they age and thicken. The plant branches from ground level and does not resprout after fire.

    P. reflexus is said to be the best known of its genus. It is a showy plant, forming part of the Proteaceae family (Matthews and Carter, 1993; Eliovson, 1983; www.plantzafrica.com).
